His celestial descent is arrested only by the abyss below: a pit of crocodiles awaiting him, where the Statue of Liberty stands upon a pedestal amid the chaos. As he falls, a scroll slips loose from his belt—a final fragment of forbidden knowledge carried with him from the sky into the depths.
